What the score data shows

The average SAT score fell from 2021 to 2024 and ticked back up in 2025, the first class to test almost entirely on the digital SAT. The dip began before the digital switch in the US, so the data doesn't show the new format lowering scores. The adaptive structure still rewards students who practice it.

What students say

Sarah K.

I honestly struggled a lot when the SAT switched to the digital format. The shorter sections and adaptive questions took some time to get used to, and I kept running out of time during practice tests.

This prep book made a huge difference for me because it helped me understand what types of questions I was actually getting wrong instead of just memorizing answers. After working through the book and taking the practice tests, I finally felt comfortable with the digital SAT.

Daniel M.

The new digital SAT was really frustrating for me at first. I was used to preparing for the old paper SAT, so the format, pacing, and adaptive difficulty felt completely different.

I bought this prep book because I needed something that specifically helped me prepare for the new version. The explanations were easy for me to follow, and doing the practice questions over and over helped me get much faster.

Keith D.

I didn't think I was going to break 1500 because I had such a hard time adjusting to the digital SAT. The interface itself wasn't terrible, but I wasn't used to the pacing and how quickly the questions could become more difficult.

This prep book gave me a structured way to study instead of randomly doing questions online. I especially liked being able to go back and review the problems I missed. After a few weeks of using it, I felt a lot more confident going into the test. Looking back, getting familiar with the digital format was probably just as important as learning the material.

Correct!

3x + 7 = 25, so 3x = 18. Then 6x is twice 3x, so 6x − 4 = 36 − 4 = 32.
